Only The Brave
Fragrance notes
Character
Only The Brave wants to be tougher than it actually is, and that gap is part of its charm. Diesel opens it with Amalfi lemon and mandarin orange, a straightforward citrus rush, before violet and coriander soften things into something powdery rather than rugged. Virginia cedar keeps a woody spine running through the middle, and amber, leather, benzoin, French labdanum and styrax build a warm, slightly animalic base that finally delivers on some of the toughness the name promises, even if it takes its time getting there.
Longevity is average, holding for a normal stretch without becoming a talking point, and sillage stays modest, a scent noticed by whoever is standing near, more intimate than assertive. The leather stays soft, more suede than saddle, and the base reads as worn-in and approachable, not aggressive, closer to a well-loved jacket than to a motorcycle boot. It works well across spring and summer daytime wear, and it fits a man who wants the idea of leather and amber without the full weight of a true leather fragrance, something to wear when the mood calls for a little swagger but not a lot of it.
