Our take

A fragrance that smells like a velvet curtain pulled back to reveal a dimly lit library. Miyaz Perfume’s Oud Lune is a heavy, resinous brew where the sharp, medicinal bite of Indian oud is immediately softened by a thick layer of golden opoponax and Peru balsam. It is not a fresh or airy scent. Instead, it feels grounded and slightly syrupy, presenting a dark amber texture that clings to the skin like a second skin. The initial spray brings a slightly sharp, fruity sweetness from the apricot and apple, but these notes are quickly swallowed by the heart of the fragrance. A massive bouquet of Turkish and Bulgarian roses emerges, not smelling dewy or fresh, but dried, powdered, and almost candied. This rose-oud combination is classic, yet here it leans heavily into the "balsamic" accord, creating a scent profile that feels like inhaling the warm, scented air of a room filled with burning incense and old, polished wood.

It is a fragrance for a specific kind of evening, the kind where the air is cold enough to see your breath and the city lights look like blurred jewels through a windowpane. In this atmosphere, the sandalwood and tonka bean in the base provide a creamy, edible warmth that contrasts with the smoky, medicinal oud. The mimosa adds a touch of hay-like powderiness, preventing the roses from becoming too feminine and keeping the blend firmly in the unisex territory, though it leans towards a traditional, opulent masculinity. It demands a certain level of confidence to wear, as it is not a subtle "office" scent; it is a statement of presence. The synthetic edge of the pink pepper cuts through the heavy resins just enough to stop the composition from becoming a flat, heavy slab of amber, introducing a micro-burst of energy that flickers and dances against the deep, woody background.
