Our take

Pearl opens with a sharp, candy-sweet burst of green apple and guava, the kind of tropical fruit salad you’d find at a resort breakfast, all syrup and sunshine. That initial fizz settles quickly into a creamy, almost jammy heart where peach and orange tangle with tonka bean, blurring into something soft and powdery. The drydown is a wall of white musk and vanilla, with white flowers floating just beneath the surface, clean but not quite sheer. It feels like slipping into a freshly laundered linen dress after a long day in the heat, a little synthetic around the edges but deliberately so, like a glossy magazine scent brought to life. For a fragrance with a middling rating of 3.05, it performs surprisingly well: longevity is solid, sillage is noticeable but not suffocating, which makes it a reliable choice for a casual spring or summer day, especially during daylight hours. Who should wear it? Someone who wants an easy, sweet, fruit-forward vanilla without complexity or surprise, no room for brooding leathers or smoky woods. Who should skip? Anyone craving depth, a bitter twist, or a hint of the avant garde. Where does it belong? Brunch on a terrace, a lazy afternoon at the mall, a first date that doesn’t demand seduction. It isn’t trying to be a masterpiece, it’s a cheerful, unambitious pearl in a shell that knows its limits.
