Qafiya Sport
Fragrance notes
Character
Qafiya Sport opens with a sharp lift of bergamot that quickly gives way to a dense coffee heart. The coffee here is dark and slightly bitter, threaded with birch tar that adds a dry, sooty edge. Violet sits quietly in the background, softening the roasted bitterness without turning the blend sweet. Nutmeg provides a gentle heat that keeps the opening from feeling flat.
Cedar and Damask rose sit at the center of the composition. The rose is muted and powdery, pushed into the wood rather than floating above it. Sandalwood in the base rounds out the sharper tar notes, while amber adds a warm, resinous weight. Leather appears late and stays close to the skin, earthy rather than polished.
The overall impression is woody and smoky, with a clear animalic undertone that grows stronger as the rose fades. It feels dry throughout, never leaning gourmand despite the coffee. The powdery accord keeps the sharper edges from becoming abrasive, but it also mutes the interesting contrasts the notes could offer.
The blend feels crowded. The coffee, tar, leather, and amber all compete for attention, and the result is a scent that lacks a clear direction. It suits cooler weather and casual wear, but anyone who prefers a focused theme over a dense mix of wood, smoke, and spice will find it unfocused.
