Our take

Red Code opens with a squirt of pineapple that’s more syrupy than sun-ripened, flanked by grapefruit’s bitter rind and a pinch of cardamom’s fuzzy warmth. The sea notes waft in like a damp towel left on a deck chair, salty and vaguely synthetic, but they keep the opening from drifting into full fruit punch territory. As it settles, lavender and thyme take the wheel, steering toward a barbershop-meets-herb-garden vibe, with jasmine adding a faint, soapy floral gloss that feels pressed and polite rather than sensual. The base of tonka and amber turns the wheel toward sweet vanilla powder, while fir needles prick through like a forgotten Christmas tree in July.

The overall character is a beachside picnic packed by someone who forgot the wind could mess up the napkins. It stays close to the skin, barely a whisper after two hours, and that sillage number tells no lies: you’ll smell it mostly when you press your nose to your wrist. The longevity is a disappointment, fading before your lunch break is over. It’s a crisp, fresh scent that leans synthetic in the marine note, but the lavender and cardamom keep it from feeling cheap. Best suited for a bright spring morning or a humid summer afternoon, when all you need is a quick, clean lift before the heat melts everything away. Skip it if you want to leave a trail or if you hate the idea of reapplying. Who wears this? Someone who values a brief, pleasant encounter over a lingering affair.
