Scorpio for Men opens with Virginia cedar, patchouli, and cypress. The cedar is dry and upright, the patchouli earthy and slightly damp, and the cypress adds a green, resinous edge. Together they create a woody start that feels grounded rather than bright. The aromatic facet is present from the first moment, leaning more toward forest floor than fresh air.
The heart introduces petitgrain, coriander, and nutmeg. Petitgrain brings a bitter green tone that cuts through the heavier opening notes. Coriander adds a mild, slightly citrusy herbal quality, while nutmeg contributes a soft, warm spice that rounds the blend without making it sweet. The transition keeps the fragrance firmly in the woody aromatic family, with the fresh spicy and herbal accords becoming more noticeable here.
The base settles into amber, musk, sandalwood, and the remaining patchouli. Amber and musk give a warm, powdery softness, while sandalwood smooths the texture. The animalic accord is subtle but present, adding a slight rawness to the drydown. The overall composition stays close to its woody core throughout. The one clear limitation is that the spice notes lack definition, so the heart can read as a single warm blur rather than distinct coriander and nutmeg.
