Tendre Jasmin does exactly what its name says: jasmine at the top, jasmine in the heart, jasmine again in the base, each layer slightly different in texture. Jacques Cavallier Belletrud opens it with mandarin and lemon to keep the flower light at first, and mimosa in the base adds a powdery, slightly almond-like softness once the citrus fades. There is no attempt here to complicate the idea with other florals or heavy woods; the whole fragrance stays devoted to one note from start to finish, which is rare enough to be worth noting on its own.
It wears at a moderate clip, present without insisting on attention. The sillage is soft-edged, keeping to a personal bubble instead of pushing outward, so it comes across as an easy, unfussy jasmine, low-key and wearable. The mimosa in the base does a lot of quiet work, rounding the jasmine into something softer as the citrus notes fade away.
Spring is where Tendre Jasmin belongs, worn on mild mornings when a single-note floral feels right. It stays uncomplicated from start to finish, jasmine layered on jasmine without ever reaching for anything else, a fragrance built entirely on trust in one flower.
