Terre Noire
Fragrance notes
Terre Noire opens with labdanum, saffron and incense. The labdanum is resinous and dark, the saffron adds a dry, metallic edge, and the incense brings a clean, pale smoke that sits above the heavier notes. This opening feels dense and warm rather than bright.
The heart introduces leather, myrrh and rose. The leather is smooth and slightly powdery, the myrrh deepens the resinous quality already present in the labdanum, and the rose is muted and dark, supporting the leather instead of standing out on its own. Patchouli, amber and birch form the base, where the birch adds a tar-like sharpness to the amber's rounded warmth.
The overall character is amber, leather, warm spicy, smoky, woody, balsamic, rose and patchouli, all blended into a heavy, resinous whole. It suits cooler weather and evening wear. The saffron and birch can feel slightly harsh against the softer amber and rose, creating a friction that some will find unpleasant.
