Velvet Patchouli
Fragrance notes
Character
Velvet Patchouli by Amado opens with black tea and bergamot. The violet leaves add a green edge to the bright citrus. This introduction feels dry and slightly bitter rather than sweet or juicy.
The heart brings magnolia, Egyptian jasmine, rose and Tunisian neroli. The floral blend is dense and white, with the neroli adding a clean lift. The flowers sit close to the green opening without turning soapy.
Patchouli leads the base, supported by sandalwood, Cambodian oud, tonka bean, white musk and amber. The oud adds a resinous depth while the tonka and amber soften the earthy patchouli. The white musk keeps the finish smooth and slightly powdery.
The composition is woody, warm spicy and firmly patchouli-driven, with citrus and floral accents throughout. It suits evening wear and formal settings. The one limitation is that the floral heart can feel crowded, with the jasmine and rose competing rather than blending cleanly.
