Zatz
Fragrance notes
Character
Zatz opens with a bright, juicy blend of cassis, plum, and pomelo. The fruit is ripe and immediate, pulling the attention forward with a gentle tartness that keeps the sweetness from feeling heavy right away. It is a friendly start that quickly steps aside for the rest of the composition.
The heart introduces sandalwood, white lily, and violet. The sandalwood brings a creamy, slightly polished woodiness that sits comfortably beside the soft, slightly powdery floral notes. The white lily adds a clean, airy quality, while the violet deepens the center with a gentle, slightly dusty petal tone that leans into the powdery accord.
The drydown is where Zatz spends most of its time. Caramel and hazelnut create a rich, nutty sweetness that feels warm and enveloping, perfect for a night out or an evening gathering. The musk smooths the edges of the sugar, allowing the woody and powdery elements to remain present rather than disappearing under the candy-like notes. It stays in a cozy, dessert-like space without becoming sharp.
The composition can feel a bit one-dimensional once the caramel and hazelnut fully settle. The fruity top and the elegant white lily lose their clarity, leaving a sweet, nutty trail that lacks the contrast needed to keep it interesting through the entire wear.
