Our take

Tuberose runs the show in Poison, thick and narcotic, propped up by white honey and incense until the middle smells like a candlelit room heavy with flowers left too long in a vase. Plum and wild berries flash by early, but they barely register once the tuberose takes hold, and carnation adds a faint peppery bite that keeps the whole bouquet from tipping fully sweet.

Sillage has real reach here, noticed by people nearby before you say a word, and the wear sticks around, built for a long night rather than a quick errand. Edouard Flechier and Maurice Roger were clearly not chasing subtlety, and white florals this loud will overwhelm a sensitive nose fast. Amber and sandalwood in the base add a resinous, slightly sweet floor under all that tuberose, keeping the whole structure from ever going thin.

For everyone else, this is a genuinely dramatic dark floral, best kept for something formal, in cold weather, after dark, built to be remembered, not blended into a crowd. It has a strong point of view, and it makes no attempt to soften that.
