Our take

Givenchy’s Harvest 2007 Amarige Mimosa opens with a bright, almost abrasive burst of citrus leaf and neroli, but that greenery is just the doorway. The mimosa arrives quickly, smothering the initial fizz with a puff of yellow pollen and honeyed softness, like walking into a room where someone just shook out a silk scarf dusted with face powder. The heart is pure mimosa absolute, creamy and slightly jammy, before the base slips into a clean, barely there woody whisper. This is not a loud fragrance. With a sillage hovering around three out of five and longevity barely past the three-hour mark, it is a whisper with a very short attention span. That makes it a perfect morning ritual for a spring day when you want to smell like the season itself, tender and optimistic. It feels natural in a groomed, garden-party way, not raw or niche. Women who love powdery yellow florals and don’t mind reapplying will adore it. Skip it if you need projection or staying power, because this scent evaporates like a good intention. Wear it to brunch in April, on a walk through a park with budding trees, or any mild day when the sun feels polite. It is a fleeting, lovely thing, like a single mimosa bloom you pick and press into a book, knowing it won’t last but enjoying it anyway.
