Our take

Flowerbomb Midnight opens with a tart, jammy slap of black currant and pomegranate, like biting into a fruit just past its prime. This bright, candied introduction quickly recedes as the night-blooming jasmine uncurls, thick and slightly narcotic, backed by a peony that is more powdery than fresh. It is a floral with a heavy, sweet vanilla-musk base that feels synthetic in the way a department store candle does, but not unpleasantly so. The overall character is that of a velvet-lined jewelry box left open in a humid room: plush, dark, and a little cloying. It wears close to the skin, barely projecting after the first hour, and fades into a soft vanilla dust within three or four hours. That poor longevity and modest sillage are honest disappointments for a fragrance named after midnight; you expect a statement, not a whisper. This is best suited for a cool autumn evening when you want a cozy, sweet floral that won’t overwhelm a dinner table or a small party. Fall is its true season, with winter a close second. Skip it if you prefer crisp, airy scents or need a perfume that lasts through a workday. Flowerbomb Midnight is a decent flanker, but it reaches for depth and only catches the hem.
