Our take

Verte Envolee opens with a brisk citrus snap, bergamot and lemon cutting through the air like a cold slice of lime dropped into hot tea. The green accord soon barges in, all crushed stems and dewy leaves, and for a moment you think this might actually have some bite. Then the rose arrives, and the black tea comes along to soften her edges, turning the whole thing into a polite, blushing green bouquet. By the drydown, musk has smoothed everything into a faint, warm skin scent that feels more like memory than presence. And that is the trouble.

This is a fragrance that behaves like a shy guest at a party: it introduces itself, then promptly disappears behind the curtains. The longevity barely scrapes two hours on skin, and the sillage is a whisper at best. Sophie Labbé has built a lovely little greenhouse, but you have to press your nose right against the glass to see the flowers. It feels natural in the sense of a garden after rain, but it wears like a mainstream caution. Best for a quick spring morning when you want to remind yourself of green without announcing it to anyone. Skip it if you want your perfume to last past lunch or leave a trail. Who is this for? The person who spritzes with a light hand and considers fragrance a private pleasure, not a statement. A fleeting moment, not a day.
