Chevrefeuille
Fragrance notes
Character
Chevrefeuille opens with a brisk snap of Amalfi lemon and orange, tart and bright enough to feel like breaking a citrus peel over your wrist. That initial zing fades quickly into the heart proper, a soft, almost watery honeysuckle with a whisper of jasmine. There is no sugar coating here; the honeysuckle is true to life, that slightly waxy, pollen-dusted sweetness you get when you bury your nose in a flowering vine. The base of Virginia cedar and myrrh does not so much anchor as hover, adding a faintly smoky, wooden whisper that keeps the whole thing from drifting into generic soap.
The overall impression is a gardener’s apron after a morning spent brushing past a trellis in full bloom. It is fresh, natural, and transparent, far more like smelling the actual flower than wearing a perfume. That honesty comes at a cost. With longevity barely scraping two hours and sillage that stays a polite inch from the skin, this is a fragrance you wear for yourself, alone, on a quiet spring morning. It suits someone who loves delicate, realistic florals and does not mind reapplying. Skip it if you demand presence or comfort in projection. Could a eau de cologne love you back this gently? Possibly not, but for ninety minutes, the illusion is lovely.
