Dark Fresh
Fragrance notes
Character
Dark Fresh opens with a briny slap of sea notes and sharp citrus, the neroli and green leaves struggling to soften the spice. It feels like a cheap cocktail shaken by a beach bartender, all fizz and no substance. The heart emerges as a clumsy orange blossom jam, artificial and cloying, before the base settles into a flat vanilla-amber mush with woody splinters. The moss is barely audible, the musk only a faint static. For all its promises of freshness, this is a scent that wears thin quickly, a plastic bucket of cold seawater that evaporates before you can remember the shape of the wave.
The overall character is a sunburned tourist in a faded linen shirt, sweating through his second mojito on a crowded boardwalk, convinced he smells like a pirate. It feels synthetic and loud in the opening, then deflates into a powdery vanilla that sits too close to the skin for too short a time. The longevity is a weak three hours, the sillage a modest cloud that vanishes in a breeze. Who should wear this? If you want a cheap aquatic for one afternoon at a spring picnic or a casual summer errand, it will do. But if you need something to last through a date, a night out, or any moment where you want to be remembered, skip it. This fragrance is a snapshot of a vacation you forgot to take.
