Character
Rush 2 opens green and dewy, freesia, lily of the valley and rose layered together before an unexpected palm tree note shows up in the heart alongside narcissus, lily and gardenia. Michel Almairac composed it for Gucci, and that palm note gives the whole bouquet a slightly waxy, tropical undertone underneath the more familiar white flowers, an odd, humid note tucked inside an otherwise classic green floral.
Black currant adds a small dark fruit pull against all that green and white, and musk and oakmoss settle the base into something dry and a little mossy by the finish, grounding the brighter florals from the opening.
It's a daylight fragrance through and through, best across spring and into early summer when the green, dewy character feels most at home. Staying power is moderate, the green top notes fading at a steady pace into the mossier base, and the sillage stays gathered close to the wearer, apparent only to the person seated nearest. Wrap a bouquet of freesia and lily loosely in a palm leaf and leave it in the sun, and the wax in the leaf starts to soften.
