La Petite Robe Noire Intense
Fragrance notes
Character
La Petite Robe Noire Intense opens with a sticky, candied fistful of blueberry and cotton candy, so sweet you almost taste the powdered sugar on your lips. A sharp raspberry-cassis jab cuts through the confection, but within minutes, the Bulgarian rose and jasmine rise like a silk lining inside a well-worn coat, softening the fruit into something more serious. The dry down settles into a dense vanilla-patchouli base, sandalwood and white musk smoothing out the edges until the perfume feels like a plush armchair upholstered in crushed velvet, slightly worn at the arms. It is unmistakably mainstream and deliberately synthetic, a gourmand built for impact rather than subtlety.
The longevity is decent at three point seven, but the sillage sits closer to three point three, meaning you get a good four hours of projection before it turns into a skin scent that stays another three. That’s the main weakness: it promises intensity but does not quite deliver the bombastic trail its name suggests, especially in cold weather where it thrives. It is a winter perfume through and through, with an eighty five percent preference for fall and a full hundred for winter, and it works best as a night scent, dramatic but not demanding. This is for someone who wants to smell like a glazed fruit tart dropped on a velvet cushion, unapologetically sweet and utterly feminine. Skip it if you prefer crisp florals or anything airy this will cling to your scarf like a sugar coma.
