Character
Bergamot and grapefruit provide a bright, sharp citrus opening that feels polished rather than juicy. Aldehydes add a shimmering, slightly soapy lift that gives the entrance a formal, vintage character. Petitgrain contributes a green, slightly bitter edge that keeps the citrus from leaning too sweet.
The heart is crowded with white florals and stone fruit. Tuberose and jasmine create a heavy, creamy density, while peach and apple add a soft, edible roundness. Violet and heliotrope introduce a powdery softness that sits between the flowers and the fruit, making the middle feel plush and slightly old-fashioned.
Cedar and oakmoss anchor the base with dry, forest-floor depth. Leather and birch bring a smoky, slightly tarry roughness that contrasts with the sweet tonka bean and benzoin. Cumin and cloves add a warm, pungent spice that can feel intrusive rather than inviting.
The composition tries to be both a sparkling citrus and a dark, resinous wood at once. That ambition creates a muddle where the fresh top notes and the heavy base never fully agree. The cumin and clove are prominent enough to distract from the nicer florals, and the overall blend feels busy rather than cohesive.
