Our take

Eden smells like a greenhouse packed past capacity: water lily, tuberose, melon, lotus, pineapple, jasmine and rose all crowd into the heart at once, on top of a fruity, aquatic-leaning top of peach, bergamot and lemon.

It's a lot of ideas from the same era, dense and tropical rather than restrained, and it wears that excess proudly, without apologizing for how much is happening at once. Mimosa and lily-of-the-valley add a lighter, more classically floral note underneath all the fruit, balancing the sweetness with something greener.

Patchouli and black locust bring the first real earthiness once the top notes settle, and sandalwood, cedar and tonka bean round out the base, giving the drydown a warm, slightly powdery finish that's calmer than anything before it. It sticks around well once applied, and the sillage has real reach, easily noticed by anyone nearby.

Spring suits it best, though it holds up reasonably across most of the year. What survives longest is the sandalwood and tonka underneath, calmer and warmer than the crowded, tropical opening ever suggested, a quieter fragrance hiding inside a loud one.
