Our take

Baz opens with a bruising slap of leather and boozy plum, coriander and black pepper clawing through aldehydes and a bitter almond crunch. The coffee note is there, dark and roasted, but it gets trampled by cinnamon, saffron, and a battalion of spices that never quite settle. Within minutes the heart erupts: incense, resins, and a honeyed floral bouquet that feels like a medieval apothecary caught fire. Tuberose and jasmine lurk under the smoke, but the real story is the base. Oud, civet, castoreum, and tobacco lock into a leathery, animalic embrace that lasts for hours. This is not a fragrance you wear, it is one you survive. The longevity and sillage numbers are earned, but at what cost.

Imagine a leather saddle that has been soaked in frankincense, left overnight in a spice bazaar, then dragged through a field of wildflowers by a very angry musk ox. That is Baz. It is dense, syrupy, and aggressively synthetic in the best possible way, a niche behemoth that demands a crowd and a cold night. The winter and fall ratings make sense because this stuff will choke you in summer heat. It suits the person who wants to leave a vapor trail of oud and honey, someone who does not care about compliments but expects a reaction. Skip it if you prefer airy citrus or if your skin runs warm. Wear it to a formal evening gala or a late night jazz club, not the office. The weakness is its excess, everything here is turned to eleven, and after eight hours it can feel like a punishment rather than a pleasure. Still, for a certain kind of man, Baz is the only kind of punishment worth taking.
