1990 by Aromas de Salazar opens with a bright mix of orange blossom, clementine, blackberry, jasmine, coconut and peach. The citrus and fruit notes feel immediate and noticeable, giving the fragrance a sunny and slightly juicy start. The coconut adds a soft, creamy edge to the sharper fruit, while the jasmine in the top layer keeps the opening from leaning too heavily into sugar.
The heart develops into a dense white floral arrangement. Narcissus, jasmine sambac, honeysuckle, may rose, tuberose and gardenia create a full, rounded floral character that feels rich and traditional. The may rose and honeysuckle bring a gentle, natural softness, while the tuberose and gardenia push the composition toward a heavier, more opulent floral presence.
The base rests on musk, civet, Texas cedar, vanilla absolute, Siam benzoin and oakmoss. The civet and musk introduce an animalic warmth that grounds the florals, while the vanilla and benzoin add a resinous sweetness. Cedar and oakmoss provide a dry, earthy contrast to the heavier base notes. The overall impression is a white floral bouquet carried on a musky, vanilla-rich foundation with a distinct animalic trace.
