That initial sweetness quickly recedes as the Laurissilva forest note emerges, a damp, mossy green that feels like walking into a cloud forest after a rain shower. Patchouli and lavender ground the heart with a dry, aromatic hand, while cedar leaves add a prickly woodiness. It dries down to a soft, polite cedar-amber base that whispers more than it speaks, and that’s the core frustration here: everything interesting happens in the first hour, then the scent fades into a melancholic shadow. The overall character is a well-intentioned but timid explorer—a man in a crisp button-down who wants to smell like he just emerged from a Portuguese laurel forest but can’t quite shake the office air. It feels more synthetic than natural, leaning squarely into designer territory with that clean, slightly plasticky ambergris tone.
