Character
Cinnamon and tobacco lead the opening with a dry heat that feels like stepping into a wood-panelled room where the fire has just been lit. Black pepper adds a sharp bite that keeps the spices from feeling heavy. Cloves sit quietly in the background, lending a familiar kitchen warmth to the first few minutes. Damask rose arrives soon after, soft and slightly powdery, offering a floral contrast that never turns sweet enough to compete with the spices. The rose feels like a fabric rather than a fresh bloom, woven through the darker elements instead of floating above them.
Oud and myrrh form a resinous base that smells of polished wood and old incense. Cypriol and styrax deepen the earthiness, while frankincense adds a clean, faintly smoky edge. Atlas cedar brings a dry timber note that grounds the entire composition. Opoponax lends a golden, slightly sticky sweetness that binds the resins together. The overall impression is of standing in a dim library after sunset, surrounded by leather chairs and burning embers, the air thick with dried flowers and ancient wood.
