Booster opens with a brisk slap of peppermint and eucalyptus that cuts through the morning haze like a cold shower, grapefruit and orange adding a citrusy fizz that feels almost medicinal. It’s a green, camphorous rush, not sweet at all, more like crushing fresh basil and galbanum between your fingers while a ghost of chili pepper prickles the nose. The lavender and nutmeg in the heart are barely audible over that herbal stomp, but they lend a fuzzy warmth that keeps it from being purely antiseptic. As it dries down, the vetiver and cedar come forward as a dry, woody skeleton, sandalwood adding a faint creaminess that never quite softens the edges.
The overall character is a gardener hacking through an overgrown herb patch on a humid summer morning, shirt sticking to his back, no time for pleasantries. It feels fresh in a sharp, almost synthetic way, more mainstream sporty than niche, but surprisingly complex for its era. The longevity and projection are its Achilles’ heel, barely three hours and whispering against skin, which is a shame because the opening is genuinely invigorating. Is that enough for a full day at the office? Probably not.
Wear this in the height of summer, on a day when you want to feel alert and untouchable, maybe for a morning workout or a farmer’s market before the heat sets in. Skip it if you crave softness or sillage that announces your arrival. This one is for the guy who likes his freshness with a bite and doesn’t mind reapplying.
