Character
A rugged leather jacket hanging in a room where someone just peeled an orange. That is the opening impression of Cuero. Bright citruses and white flowers rush out first, clean and sharp, but they do not stay bright for long. The heart quickly turns to leather and cedar, with jasmine adding a softness that keeps the leather from feeling stiff. Cypress brings a green edge that cuts through the heavier notes. It wears comfortably near the body, never pushing outward to announce itself, and the blend stays present for a reasonable stretch without demanding attention.
Labdanum and vetiver anchor the base, giving the scent a resinous, earthy weight. Smoke curls through the drydown, subtle and dry rather than charred. The animalic accord is quiet here, adding a faint rawness that suits the leather theme. Everything feels deliberate and grounded, like a scent made for someone who wants texture without loud performance. It suits cooler days and evening wear, pairing well with denim and wool.
The white floral facet can feel slightly synthetic against the natural leather and wood. That artificial lift clashes with the earthy base and makes the composition feel uneven in places. It is a limitation that keeps Cuero from feeling fully cohesive, especially when the florals linger too long.
