Blood orange, black currant, clementine and mandarin orange crowd the top of Deep Red into a thick, dark citrus blend, and ginger adds a warm, slightly peppery kick right behind it. Clementine and pear round out the citrus blend with a softer, juicier note, so the opening never reads as purely sharp or bitter. The sillage on Deep Red stays small and quietly held, wearing at a fair, moderate clip once the fruit fully settles into the heart.
Tuberose, freesia and hibiscus seed keep the floral side present without letting it take over from the fruit, and by the base, vanilla, sandalwood, musk and California cedar turn everything warmer and a little sweeter. Ginger flower in particular gives the heart a slightly peppery lift that keeps surfacing even once the florals take over.
Cold weather brings it fully to life, worn once the air turns and something warm and fruity feels right against the cold. Ginger is the note that keeps showing up again and again through the fruit and the vanilla, a spiced thread tying the whole composition together.
