Character
Gossip opens with tangerine, osmanthus and violet. The citrus is bright and immediate, the violet adds a soft powder, and the osmanthus bridges fruit and flower without leaning too far into either. The top feels clean and approachable, not sharp or loud.
Freesia, maple, tea, rose hip and jasmine form the heart. The tea note gives a dry, slightly green edge that keeps the maple from reading sticky. Freesia and jasmine carry the floral accord forward while rose hip adds a faint tartness that keeps the center from settling into pure sweetness.
Amber, vanilla, sandalwood and musk anchor the blend. The vanilla and amber provide warmth that sits comfortably against skin, while sandalwood adds a smooth wood presence and musk rounds the edges. The scent stays near the body and wears at a steady pace through a daytime outing.
The composition is sweet and powdery, with a woody base that feels more suited to casual wear than formal occasions. One drawback is that the tea and rose hip notes get overshadowed once the amber and vanilla take hold, leaving the interesting green tartness behind too early.
