Our take

Cranberry and violet leaf open with a tart, green snap that feels like biting into a fresh berry near a stream. Basil and cassia add a gentle herbal heat that keeps the fruit from leaning sugary too soon. Frangipani moves through the center with a creamy tropical weight, joined by cedar and a dusting of cinnamon that warms the floral heart without turning heavy. The base brings suede and caramel together, where the leather is soft and the sweetness is thick, anchored by benzoin, patchouli, vetiver and vanilla. The overall impression is fruity, caramel, leather, floral, ozonic, musky, tropical, aquatic, amber and sour all at once, which sounds chaotic on paper but settles into a bright, textured mix that feels modern and unisex.

The caramel and vanilla give Lotus a rich, dessert-like depth that many will enjoy, yet the sour accord and ozonic touch keep it from becoming a flat gourmand. It suits someone who likes fruit and leather combined with tropical florals and a musky amber drydown. It works well in warm weather and also fits an evening out. The one clear limitation is the composition itself. With ten accords competing at once, the scent can feel crowded and hard to read, and the sour note sometimes clashes with the caramel instead of balancing it.
