Our take

Strawberry and mandarin orange open Miss Dior Cherie sweet and candied, closer to fruit punch than perfume for the first few minutes, and that opening is the part most people remember. Rose and jasmine follow quickly, turning it into a fairly conventional fruity floral, pretty but not especially distinctive on its own.

What changes everything is the base, and it arrives sooner than the candy opening suggests it will. Patchouli and oakmoss bring real chypre structure, earthy and a little bitter, vetiver adds a dry, grassy edge, sandalwood smooths the roughness, and amber warms the whole thing without sweetening it further. This drydown reads much drier and more serious than the strawberry top implies, and it is the reason the fragrance holds up on repeat wears, more structured than the sweet opening promises.

It holds well on skin for a long while, the patchouli and oakmoss base doing most of that work, and its presence stays modest, picked up by whoever shares your space but never carrying beyond that, not a whole office. Wear it somewhere you want a mix of playful and structured, not somewhere that calls for pure sweetness. The gap between the top and the base is the whole story here, and it is worth sitting through the strawberry to get to the chypre underneath.
