Oasis Oud opens with a sharp, slightly medicinal edge that some will find off-putting. The raspberry leaf and cistus incanus hit first, and the leaf note carries a green, almost bitter bite that does not fully soften. It is a rough start that asks for patience before the rest of the composition settles.
Peony and jasmine sit in the heart, but they stay in the background. The leather and patchouli take charge here, giving the floral softness a dark, soil-like weight. It smells like a room with old wooden panels and a faint trace of worn upholstery, intimate and heavy at the same time.
Tonka bean and vanilla accords bring a rounded sweetness that balances the dense woods. The oud here is smooth rather than animalic, supported by cedar and cypriol. It feels suited to a late evening walk through a quiet city, when the streets are lit by streetlamps and the air is cool enough to make warm materials feel comforting.
The musk in the base lingers gently on fabric and skin. Habibi NY created a scent that stays close to its woody and sweet core without drifting into brighter territory. Christine Hassan composed a fragrance that favors depth over sparkle, and the vanilla accord is the final impression that stays with you.
