The first spray feels a little crowded. Palisander rosewood and apple rush forward with the cinnamon and lavender, and the opening is busy rather than balanced. It tries to place a fruit bowl next to a spice rack and call it a room, so the first few minutes smell muddled instead of composed. The woods and the sugar compete before they agree to sit down.
The heart settles into a soft arrangement of rose and lily over cedar. The powdery accord steps in here, smoothing the edges of the spice and pulling the white floral notes close to the skin. Sandalwood and amber warm the floor beneath the flowers, while vanilla and musk wrap the whole space in a gentle heat. It feels intimate and a little old-fashioned, like a heavy curtain drawn against the cold outside.
A narrow side street after the shops close, the air sharp and quiet, and someone passing leaves a faint trail of rose and sandalwood drifting behind them along the pavement.
