Perseus opens with a brisk citrus slap from grapefruit and bergamot, the black currant adding a faint tart sweetness that reads almost like a berry soda fizzing on the tongue. That initial pop is bright and inviting, but it fades fast. Within minutes the green mandarin and a grassy, slightly smoky vetiver take over, supported by geranium’s clean herbal edge. The drydown settles into a soft blend of dry woods, cedar, and a whisper of ambergris, with cashmere wood lending a smooth, almost powdery texture. The balsam fir provides a subtle evergreen undertone, but the tonka bean is barely present.
This is a fragrance that feels like a cool spring morning on a golf course: sharp air, damp grass, a splash of grapefruit juice left sweating on a wooden bench. The composition leans synthetic in the best way, polished and safe, more mainstream than niche. Its biggest weakness is the longevity, barely three hours before it becomes a skin scent, and the sillage is polite to a fault. You will need to reapply or overspray.
Perseus suits the confident but understated man who wants a clean, citrusy aromatic for daytime wear, especially warm weather. Skip it if you crave beast mode projection, deep amber resins, or any real complexity. Wear it to work, brunch, or a casual weekend outing where you want to smell fresh without announcing yourself from across the room. A pleasant spritzer, but nothing more.
