The lounge is dim, lit only by the amber glow of a single lamp. A bowl of dates sits on the table, their sticky sweetness cut by the sharp zest of a bitter orange peeled moments ago. That bright opening is brief here, a quick flash before the room shifts.
The air turns heavy with rose and jasmine, but the petals feel dry, dusted with the earthy grit of papyrus and orris. Oud enters with a resinous weight, joined by guaiac wood and patchouli that ground the flowers. Rose geranium adds a green, slightly sour edge to the heart.
As the evening settles, the leather in the base becomes prominent, smooth and worn, resting against a massive slab of amber. Sandalwood and cedar provide a sturdy frame, while incense curls upward with a smoky, resinous haze. The animalic and musky facets give the space a warm, breathing presence.
The powdery accord from the orris and rose lingers in the cushions, mixing with the warm spicy kick of the woods. Sweetness remains, but it is the deep, resinous kind found in the amber and the leather.
