Reale Oud
Fragrance notes
Character
Reale Oud is a fragrance built for people who want oud without the animalic edge that usually comes with it. The opening places saffron and black pepper next to the wood, and the spice keeps the first minutes bright rather than heavy. There is a clear warmth here, but it never turns dense or difficult. The saffron in particular gives the top notes a golden tone that makes the oud feel polished and controlled.
The heart moves into rose and cedar while myrrh adds a balsamic depth that keeps the flowers from reading sweet. Cedar gives the mid section a dry structure, so the rose behaves like a spice rather than a perfume note. By the time the base arrives, sandalwood and leather carry the wood forward while patchouli grounds the blend. The leather is present without dominating, and the sandalwood smooths the edges so the patchouli reads earthy instead of dirty.
This is a composition for cool evenings when someone wants to smell composed and a little formal. It suits wearers who like woody ambers and fresh spicy accords but prefer their rose tucked inside wood instead of floating above it. The drydown stays close to sandalwood and leather, with the balsamic accord from the myrrh lingering underneath. Professor released this in 2020 with Moellhausen as the perfumer, and the formula keeps the oud at the center while letting the surrounding notes shape its character through the evening air
