The bergamot keeps it from being too sugary, but for a moment you wonder if this is just another cheerful floral splash. Then the heart blooms, and the whole thing settles into a different rhythm. Rose and jasmine take the lead, but they are not the heavy, heady kind; they are filtered through lotus and lily of the valley, so the effect is dewy and translucent, like a watercolor garden where the petals are still wet from morning mist. The dry down reveals the chypre backbone that the house of Galimard does so well. Oakmoss and cypress bring a woody, slightly green anchor, while a clean musk keeps it from turning dusty.
