Our take

The opening of Tears Of Iris is a green, almost bitter whisper of angelica that quickly dissolves into a soft, powdered iris petal. Alberto Morillas has painted with a muted palette here, letting the iris sit quietly on a bed of clean musk and a faint, creamy sandalwood that barely registers as wood at all. There is no dramatic bloom, no grand reveal. Instead, it develops like light falling through a dusty attic window onto a porcelain bowl of dried violet roots, earthy and gently sweet with a touch of amber warmth in the base.

This is a fragrance that feels studied and natural, more niche in its restraint than its price point might suggest. The major weakness is plain in the numbers: longevity hovers around two hours before it becomes a skin scent, and sillage is so close that you will be the only one enjoying it past the first half hour. It is not loud, and it does not want to be.

It suits someone who values a clean, powdery aura over compliments, who reaches for a scent as personal as a second skin. Skip it if you want projection or anything resembling a statement. Wear it on a crisp spring morning when the sun is low, to a quiet museum visit or a coffee shop with a book. It will not demand attention, but it will settle into the air like a half remembered dream.
