Our take

Through The Sky opens with gardenia and ylang-ylang brightened by bergamot. The white florals feel creamy rather than sharp, and the citrus adds lift without turning soapy. This stage stays soft and polished, leaning feminine despite the masculine label, and it prepares the ground for heavier material without clashing.

The heart introduces leather, oud, and rose. The leather is animalic and prominent, the oud feels dry and resinous, and the rose adds a faint powder that rounds the edges. The accord turns smoky here, with the lactonic white floral top still audible beneath the darker notes.

The base brings amber, cedar, patchouli, musk, and moss. Amber and patchouli create a warm, earthy weight, cedar adds dry wood, and moss gives a green, slightly damp texture. Musk smooths the edges. The leather and oud linger here, but the amber and moss slowly take the lead and keep the profile grounded.

The leather and animalic accord will not suit everyone, and the creamy gardenia in the opening may feel at odds with the smoky drydown for those who prefer a consistent mood. The fragrance shifts hard between its floral start and its woody base, which limits its versatility across different settings.
