Our take

Tuberose by The Lab Fragrances opens with a familiar problem. The lavender and bergamot arrive with a synthetic edge that feels more like a cleaning product than a garden. This sharp start can be off-putting for those who prefer a natural smelling introduction. It lacks the softness one expects from a floral release.

Once the initial harshness settles, the heart reveals a creamy tuberose and jasmine blend. The iris adds a powdery veil that softens the bright mandarin orange from the top. It creates a thick, white floral atmosphere that feels heavy and luxurious. The scent sits close to the skin, creating a personal bubble of aroma.

The base brings amber and vanilla warmth that suits a cool morning walk or a heavy wool sweater. It moves away from the bright citrus and settles into a woody, earthy patchouli and vetiver foundation. This drydown is rich and comforting, providing a stark contrast to the opening spray. The transition is significant.

The synthetic opening remains the reason some will pass on this bottle. While the drydown is a beautiful, powdery floral, that initial chemical lavender note is hard to ignore. If you are sensitive to sharp aromatic accords, this specific composition might not be the right choice for your collection.
