Our take

The towel is already warm under the elbow, the cooler is half-empty, and the white rum is still sweating on the ice when the first spray goes on. Lime hits first, sharp and cold-pressed, immediately pulled sideways by sea salt and a sun-creamy coconut that smells exactly like the inside of a just-opened tube of sunscreen. Blood orange rounds the edges without making it sweet, and the juniper brings a dry, resinous lift that stops the fruit from leaning into fruit-salad territory. Heliotrope softens the brightness just enough to keep it from stinging in the heat.

The midsection tilts the scene toward something a little more dressed. Jasmine and osmanthus catch the light without turning heavy, their petals dusty with nutmeg and a faint, bitter almond that reads more like the smell of a stone fruit pit than a dessert note. Sugar cane is there, but it is raw and stalky, the green snap of it keeping the florals from collapsing into a standard white-flower accord. It smells like skin that has been out in the sun long enough to hold a little heat.

The drydown stays close to the body. Driftwood and ambergris give a clean, saline woodiness that feels like the underside of a boardwalk, while vanilla and tonka bean smooth the edges without making the blend thick. Rum lingers in the background, warm and faintly boozy, though it never smells like a cocktail. There is a clarity to the base that keeps the whole composition upright even as the sweeter notes settle in.

This is not a fragrance that tries to dress up a beach day. It smells like the moment the afternoon slows down, when the light turns thin and the air starts to cool, and the wood of the table still holds the heat of the day.
