Oud Al Fayed
Fragrance notes
Character
Oud Al Fayed opens with a sharp bite of black pepper and saffron that cuts through the initial sweetness of raspberry. The fruit is present but it does not dominate the entrance. As the scent develops, the floral heart introduces a classic blend of rose and jasmine, supported by the clean presence of lily. These flowers feel traditional and structured rather than airy. The composition sits firmly in a masculine register despite the floral elements, presenting a formal face that feels suited to a tailored jacket and a quiet evening out.
The true character of Christian Provenzano's work lives in the base. Cambodian oud provides a deep, resinous foundation that feels rich and slightly wild. It rests alongside earthy patchouli and moss, creating a texture that is damp and grounded. Cypriol and Atlas cedar add a dry, woody sharpness that prevents the amber and musk from feeling too soft. The air in a dim library with old wood paneling and a cold breeze coming through a cracked window carries this exact mix of smoke, earth, and aged timber.
