Terra Incognita Secret Island
Fragrance notes
Character
Terra Incognita Secret Island opens with seaweed that feels damp and salty. The note is realistic rather than abstract, carrying the heavy, mineral scent of coastal water. It gives the fragrance an immediate marine character that defines the early minutes. Thyme enters soon after, adding a dry, herbal edge that cuts through the wet opening. Jasmine provides a soft floral layer that keeps the heart from becoming too sharp. Citruses bring a bright, clean lift that moves the composition toward a fresher space. The heart feels aromatic and ozonic, with the airy quality of open water meeting green herbs.
The base introduces fir and cedar to ground the aquatic elements. Fir adds a resinous, needle-like freshness that complements the earlier thyme. Cedar brings a dry woodiness that steadies the lighter notes above it. Together, the woods create a dry finish that sits beneath the remaining marine and citrus traces. The overall scent stays within the fresh spicy and aromatic accords, balancing salt, herb, and wood without leaning heavily into any single direction. It remains clean and outdoors-oriented throughout its development.
Composed by Philippe Bousseton and launched in 2017, this Brocard release suits warm daylight hours spent outside.
