Palantine
Fragrance notes
Character
Palantine opens with a limitation that will matter to some wearers. The bergamot is brief and thin, giving way almost immediately to a heart that feels crowded rather than layered. With heliotrope, geranium, nutmeg, lavender, freesia, sweet pea, and iris all present, the middle section lacks a clear focal point.
The spice notes sit close to the florals without dominating them. Nutmeg and lavender add a gentle warmth that keeps the heart from leaning fully into sweetness. Freesia and sweet pea bring a light, airy quality that prevents the powder from feeling heavy.
Tolu balsam, tonka bean, musk, vanilla, sandalwood, benzoin, and amber form a base that is rich and rounded. The vanilla and amber lead, while sandalwood adds a smooth woodiness that ties the deeper notes together. Musk and benzoin give the drydown a soft, resinous finish.
The overall character is powdery, amber, vanilla, floral, warm spicy, sweet, fresh spicy, aromatic, musky, and balsamic.
