Tuscan iris opens Homme Parfum cool and powdery, with Italian orange giving it a brief citrus lift before leather and rose settle into the center. The rose stays dry and dark, leaning toward the leather more than toward anything floral. It suits winter and cold-weather evenings, worn to dinner or anywhere formal, and it has almost no place in a summer wardrobe.
The iris carries more weight here than it does in most fragrances that use it as a side note, giving the whole composition a cool, mineral-adjacent dryness that keeps returning between the leather and the woods underneath. It is a serious, formal fragrance, and it wears that way from the first minute.
Sandalwood, ambrette, agarwood and cedar deepen the base into something dense and a little animalic, earthy under all that powder.
It is very long-lasting, hard to shift once it settles into the skin, and the sillage leaves a trail, noticed by people nearby before you speak. It rewards someone who wants a formal, old-world kind of fragrance and can feel like too much for anyone hoping for something quiet.
