Our take

Alien Man opens with a startling herbal slap: anise and dill, green and slightly medicinal, threaded through with mint and lavender. The lemon and thyme add a sharp, kitchen-herb brightness, but the beech wood gives it a dry, almost dusty texture. It smells like an alien greenhouse on a cold planet. Then the heart warms into leather softened by cashmere wood and osmanthus, that apricot-floral note that seems to glow. Black pepper and geranium keep it from getting cozy, adding a peppery, stemmy bite. The drydown is where it settles into a familiar Mugler base: white amber and cashmeran over vanilla, a smooth, musky sweetness that clings to skin for five or six hours before fading.

This is a weird, compelling thing, part kitchen spice, part leather jacket. The sillage is modest, just above skin after the first hour, but the longevity is adequate for a workday. It feels synthetic in the best way, like a constructed alien landscape, neither fully natural nor fully mainstream. It demands a wearer who enjoys aromatic herbs and a bit of oddness, someone who wants a fragrance that talks, not shouts. Skip it if you crave clean citrus or sweet gourmands. Wear it in fall or spring rain, during a long afternoon when you want to feel slightly out of place, but comfortable in that stretch between day and night.
