Character
Art Collection Black by M. Micallef opens with a bright mix of bitter orange, lemon, plum, and neroli. The citrus is sharp and immediate, while the plum adds a dark, rounded fruitiness that keeps the start from feeling too light. Neroli brings a clean floral edge to the top, creating a fresh introduction that still carries some weight.
The heart moves into a dense white floral blend of jasmine, tuberose, and ylang-ylang. Tuberose dominates here with a heavy, creamy presence, supported by the soft richness of ylang-ylang and the lighter touch of jasmine. The overall feel is lush and intense, suited to a cool evening where the air is crisp and the light is low. The warm spicy accord adds a gentle heat that complements the deep floral character without overwhelming it.
The base rests on benzoin, vanilla, and white musk. Vanilla and benzoin create a sweet, resinous foundation that feels smooth and slightly powdery, while white musk keeps the finish clean. The sweetness is prominent throughout and may feel too heavy for those who prefer drier compositions. The fragrance stays firmly in a rich, gourmand floral space and does not offer a dry or subtle drydown.
