Our take

Ayurveda opens with a bright citrus fanfare, orange and lemon and bergamot so zesty you can almost feel the oil on your fingertips. But it’s a short-lived brightness, because within minutes the pepper and spices steam in, dragging the composition toward something earthier, more meditative. The heart is where things get interesting: iris and violet add a powdery, almost cosmetic softness, while ylang-ylang keeps it from turning too stern. On the dry down, Peru balsam and amber wrap the whole affair in a warm, resinous glaze, with vetiver and patchouli anchoring it to the ground. The overall impression is like a clay pot left in the sun, still warm to the touch and dusted with dried flower petals, a little sweet, a little woody, but never loud.

This is a gentle, introspective scent with a natural, slightly synthetic edge in the opening. It feels closer to mainstream than niche, but its personality is quiet and unassuming. Unfortunately, longevity and sillage are both modest, so expect to reapply if you want it to last through a stroll or an afternoon. It suits someone who likes soft spiced florals with a balsamic backbone, and who doesn’t mind a fragrance that stays close to the skin. Skip it if you demand projection or deep darkness. Wear it in spring or summer daylight, to a yoga class, a market, or a casual brunch, where its calm charm can settle like a secret.
