Carmine Attar
Fragrance notes
Character
Carmine Attar opens with a bright, fizzy lift from aldehydes that makes the Taif rose feel airy rather than heavy. The entrance is quick and sets a polished tone, but the real story waits beneath.
The heart gathers orange blossom, jasmine sambac, tuberose, gardenia, heliotrope and rose into a dense white floral bouquet. It is sweet, powdery and unapologetically feminine, with a fruity softness that rounds the edges of the petals.
The base is where Vivace lets the composition breathe. Sandalwood and osmanthus add cream, while cinnamon and tolu balsam bring warmth. Castoreum, civet and Cambodian oud introduce a deep animalic shadow that pulls the flowers into darker territory. Amber ties the elements together so the transition feels smooth rather than jarring. This drydown suits cooler weather and evening occasions, though anyone who dislikes heavy base notes built around animalics and oud will find it overwhelming.
Composed by Sultan Pasha, the scent feels like walking through a grand conservatory at dusk while a heavy velvet curtain slowly falls behind you.
