Crystals opens with a sharp synthetic edge that never quite disappears. The grapefruit and citruses arrive bright, but the lily and jasmine feel manufactured rather than fresh, sitting on the skin with a plastic sheen. Pepper adds a quick bite that vanishes fast, leaving a floral mix that smells more like a drugstore shelf than a garden. This is not a perfume that smells expensive. The magnolia tries to soften the blow, yet the overall impression stays thin and a bit harsh, especially in the first half hour.
The heart brings patchouli and vanilla together, and here the scent finds some footing. The vanilla is sweet and powdery, wrapping around the earthy patchouli to create a warm, slightly messy floral. White musk in the base pushes it toward a soft, woody finish, though the animalic accord stays faint and never develops real depth. It leans heavily on that vanilla, repeating it in both the heart and the base, which makes the drydown feel a little one-note. The white floral accord dominates throughout, with the spicy facets adding small bursts of interest.
Crystals suits someone who wants a loud, sweet floral and does not mind a chemical opening. It is easy to wear for a casual day out, especially in warm weather when the citrus can breathe. Those who prefer natural smelling flowers or a refined, clean finish will find it disappointing. The synthetic start is the price you pay for the cheerful vanilla drydown, and it is a cost that remains obvious every time you spray it.
