The pineapple and peach burst in with a fizzy, watery sweetness, but the narcissus and iris cut through like a sharp, powdery hand. Who still makes florals this dense, this unapologetically retro? The heart is a crowded garden of mimosa, gardenia, and carnation, all vying for attention, yet the narcissus keeps everything slightly uneasy, almost vegetal. It feels like a vintage silk scarf left in a wooden drawer, face powder and old roses mingling with the faint ghost of cigarette smoke.
The dry down softens the edges with white tobacco and vanilla, while oakmoss and leather anchor the sweetness in something animalic and earthy. The musk rounds it out into a fuzzy, intimate warmth, but the powdery texture can feel synthetic against the skin, like a well preserved antique compact mirror.
